Parallel Parking
Parallel Parking tells the story of Dechen, an undocumented Tibetan worker, and Oscar, a reckless Dominican American truck driver plagued by addiction. The two immigrants, who arrived under traumatic circumstances, find common bonds through their differences and a shared love of food. Their relationship develops and deepens as Oscar teaches Dechen to drive, and Dechen supports Oscar through his failing health.
Dechen and Oscar’s heartwarming story highlights the issues undocumented workers face on a number of socio-cultural and emotional fronts, such as homelessness, unemployment, trauma, identity crisis and migrant smuggling, reflecting the challenges many refugees and immigrants face today.
