Whether you are interested in event planning, designing programs for international delegations, connecting with the business community, or crafting stories and outreach tools, we have a spot for you. Positions and assignments are tailored to your intersts and the time commitment you can make.
From program planning and execution to research and social media or producing the International Festival and other great events, all areas of International Focus operate through the help of dedicated, creative people who generously share their time and talents. Current Volunteer/Intern Positions
Do you have strong writing skills and enjoy crafting messages and stories? As an International Focus communications volunteer, you can put your mark on how we talk to the world. Activities range from populating our community calendar or helping put together webpages to writing articles or press releases and other creative tasks that involve writing and communication.
Social Media Manager:
As an International Focus social media manager, you help direct a social media team of interns to populate Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin feeds. A great social media manager will be able to plan a SM campaign and direct messaging and event/message/brand specific communications. Is that you?? Call us!
As an International Focus grant leader, you help direct a team of interns to research and write for grants. The grant leader should have grant experience and enjoy teaching and sharing their knowledge and innovation.
Do you love tech tools and applications? We need your expertise! As an International Focus technology specialist, you would research and advise on various software solutions, such as best volunteer and donor management, file storage, email systems, etc. Come help us put the best tools in place to promote global understanding!
Help us tell a visual story of international understanding! The International Focus multimedia guru will take pictures and footage of our international delegations for social media and the IF blog and create video of the international communities of the Triangle among other exciting visual projects.
Business Development Specialist
The International Focus business development manager helps create mutually beneficial relationships between International Focus and Triangle companies. Activities can include assisting with synergy research, analysis of company diversity or global outreach needs, and partnership planning.

Ongoing Volunteer/Intern Positions
College students gain excellent work and portfolio experience by assisting on projects aligned with your interests. Positions include data maintenance, research, communication, marketing, planning for international delegations, and helping produce the International Festival of Raleigh. Applicants should have interest in cross-cultural communication, political science, international affairs, communication, history, media, or event planning. Students must be willing to work at least nine hours per week.
Assist our Program Directors with the coordination of incoming delegations and professional and youth exchanges. This might include researching professional contacts, writing narratives, planning itineraries, or assisting the delegations while they are in town.
Be in the heart of the organization and help with research, front office facilitation, data entry, and other ongoing administrative tasks.
From membership receptions and speaker series to cultural events and our flagship International Festival of Raleigh, there are many ways to be involved with International Focus events. Program and venue planning, marketing, production, and facilitating at the event itself are just some examples of how you can help create outstanding experiences for our participants.
Communication and Design
Assist our Executive Director with PR, organizational communication, marketing, branding, and design. Tasks are varied and may be for specific events and features or organization-wide.
